Taylor brings 10 years of unique animal experience to the board of Favorite Oasis. Taylor has a BS in animal science from the University of Findlay and is working towards her MPA with a certificate in management of non profit organizations from the University of Toledo. Taylor interned at Cleveland Armory’s Black Beauty Ranch in Murchison, Texas and was an enrichment and animal welfare intern at the Toledo Zoo. Through these experiences, Taylor and fellow board members of Favorite Oasis developed the mission of Favorite Oasis with the dual purpose of providing lifelong care for abused, neglected and unwanted animals while creating co beneficial programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Taylor has been volunteering with the Humane Society for over 10 years including fostering dogs and cats until time for adoption. Taylor also worked with local wildlife rehabilitation centers working to rehabilitate and release native wildlife back in the community.
“I have seen first hand the impact of building trusting relationships with animals. There is still much to learn and we hope Favorite Oasis will be a stepping stone to building a more harmonious society where historically misunderstood people and animals can feel a sense of belonging and home. Everyone is welcome at Favorite Oasis and we will leave this world a little better than we found it.”
Taylor’s FAVORITE animal is a giraffe. “Giraffes are gentle and intuitive. Similar to a horse, a giraffe is always listening to the world that surrounds them. They are known for their large ears but historically thought to not make sounds. For me, the giraffe is a reminder to listen to the world around me and the unique perspectives of people and animals. It is also a reminder that just because one doesn’t speak doesn’t mean they have nothing to say. Everyone has a story to be told and I’m grateful for the ones I get to be a part in telling.”

Tyler's FAVORITE animal - wolf 🐺. Wolves are one of the most polarizing animals because despite their individual strength, they are stronger in a pack! Tyler thinks there is no greater symbolism for the favorite oasis team. “While we all bring unique strengths and diverse perspectives to the table, each of us at favorite oasis are a piece to a bigger puzzle"
